CHAMPPS: Coordinated Healthy Activity, Motivation & Prevention Programs

Communities throughout Vermont are building and operating comprehensive health and wellness projects that promote healthy behavior - including better nutrition, increased physical activity, and disease prevention.

To fund these projects, the Department of Health distributes the state's Coordinated Healthy Activity, Motivation & Prevention Programs (CHAMPPS) competitive, multi-year grants to Vermont-based community organizations.

Apply for a CHAMPPS Grant

Community grant applications for Fiscal Year 2009 are now being accepted.

Please review the CHAMPPS guidance document. Applications must meet all the checklist guidelines, and be postmarked or received by close of business October 15, 2008.

Community Assessment Toolkit

The Fit and Healthy Vermonters Community Assessment Toolkit provides the resources to perform the review necessary to develop programs and services that best address the nutrition and physical activity needs and wants of your community.

Community Assessment Training: Registration Deadline September 26

Two separate full day trainings, October 15 and 16, 2008, about the community assessment and capacity building steps for developing successful obesity prevention programs.
