Licensing
The Board of Medical Practice is responsible for licensing:
- physicians (MDs)
- podiatrists (DPMs)
The Board of Medical Practice certifies:
- physician assistants (PAs)
- anesthesiologist assistants (AAs).
Nurses, osteopaths, and other health professionals are licensed by the Vermont Secretary of State Office of Professional Regulation.

Physician Profiles
Through the license renewal process, we collect extensive information from approximately 3,000 licensed physicians to comply with a legislative mandate to post online the professional profiles of all Vermont physicians.

Complaints
The Board investigates complaints and may issue reprimands, and revoke, suspend, or place conditions on professional licenses and certifications where appropriate.
